Land’s END To John O’Groats (West Coast)

Land’s END To John O’Groats (West Coast) for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020
Land’s END To John O’Groats (West Coast) for MSFS 2020

Visit the many cities, towns and villages on the West coast of the British mainland.
Fly the ‘Mach Loop’ used by many of the world’s airforces to train pilots in low level flight.
Fly low through the picturesque Lake District.
Fly over Loch Ness and keep an eye open for Nessie, the Loch Ness Monster.

In Britain, the journey from Land’s End to John O’Groats is famous. It takes in the most South Westerly point of the British mainland and the furthest North East. The journey is covered as an endurance event using a variety of transport (on foot, by bike etc.) often to raise money for charity. There are also speed records between the two points. The record for the 874 miles by bike stands at just over 41 hours. Our route is going to take us around the Western coast of the mainland and is 1,200 miles (1,920km) long in 15 legs. I have tried to keep each leg to a maximum of one hour. Although not strictly a bush flight, we shall fly through the Welsh hills, the Lake District and the Scottish Highlands as well as the rugged and historic coastline of Britain. I have chosen a variety of airfields from international airports to grass strips and everything in between. In the downloaded zip file, I have included a readme file with a list of the excellent third party scenery for cities, landmarks and airports which will add to the visuals of your journey. The flight can be completed without any of these files but some of the features I mention in the flight notes will really come to life if you download the extra scenery and place it in your community folder on the relevant legs. In some cases, there is more than one choice for a piece of scenery and where there is a choice, I have put a letter next to the number on the list. In these instances both are not required. (I hope this makes sense!)

Many thanks to f99mlu for his BushMissionGen tool without which I would not have known where to start making this project. This is my first bush trip project. I intend to complete the loop of the British mainland back to Land’s End in the second instalment which will hopefully be available in January 2021.
To Run My Bush Flight, Just Unpack The ‘stjust-wick’ Folder From The .zip File And Place It In Your Community Folder. Then Download And Add Any Additional Scenery Files For Each Leg Of The Journey. I Hope You Enjoy Your Trip!
