The DC-3 was pivotal for Braniff Airways in the 40s and 50s, and the liveries used in this time are among some of the most recognizable ever.

Brannif Airways ceeded many of its DC-3 to the USAAF during the war, as well as his Dallas Love Field to be used for training, whilst taking supply flights to Panama military facilities (where many fighter pilots were being trained).

The tight collaboration granted Brannif some international routes after the war and helped leverage fast growth when it eventually would change its surname from “Airways” to “International”
